Faculty/Staff Professional Development Opportunity: IVC is a proud partner of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), which presented an informational film and workshop on the rights and responsibilities of DACA participants. Lunch provided.

ASG of IVC/IDEA Outreach Booth:
Students, faculty and staffed joined Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity Advocates (IDEA) to write letters/postcards to local congressional staff. Students also presented the ASG of IVC DACA Resolution and collected signatures of support.

Indigenous People's Day:
The Office of Student Equity held the second annual event to celebrate the cultures of the indigenous peoples of the Americas. Activities included a Native American presentation and storytelling by Jacqueline Nunez; food provided by Ben & Ollie Navajo Tacos and Sweet Fry Bread; and beading workshops.

Discussion about the financial aid available to AB540 and DACA students. This informative and important presentation provided students with information about paying for their college education.

Student Equity: Undocumented Students Series Webinar
This hour-long webinar focused on the legal aspects of admitting and supporting undocumented students. Host Chad Teman looked into what the state and federal governments are doing to work with these students, examined case studies showing how some states are handling the issue, and provided advice on working with these students. The webinar included a discussion about how to offer safe spaces and teach how to maximize the services provided to these students. A question-and-answer session followed the webinar.
