Program Eligibility Criteria
Participation in DSPS is voluntary and all student information is confidential. Services and accommodations are based on a verified disability, an interactive process with the DSPS Counselor and/or the LD Specialist and the student’s individual needs.
- You must be enrolled in at least one course at IVC.
- Provide Verification of Disability (VOD):
To receive services through IVC’s DSPS department, a student must provide current documentation of a verified disability, including functional limitations in the educational setting.
The VOD form must be completed by a licensed professional verifying your disability.

The Authorization to Exchange Information form is to be signed and submitted to the educational institution/agency/licensed professional that you are authorizing to exchange information to or from IVC.

- Complete the Intake Process:
Once you have received appropriate VOD. Contact the DSPS office to schedule an hour appointment for an intake with a counselor. During the appointment, services and accommodations will be discussed and approved.
