IVC Counseling Center Stress Busters:

The Counseling Center at IVC will be presenting workshops that highlight self-care techniques for students.  There are a variety or workshops and topics including mindfulness, breathing exercises, meditation and stress management.  The workshops are FREE for students.  Please see the flyers below for more information:

How To Communicate with Your Professors

Communicating with your professors is an important part of the American education process both in and out of the classroom.  Learn about how to effectively ask questions and get help from your professors so that you can be more successful in the classroom.

How to Use Your Health Insurance

Learn how to find a doctor, what to expect in terms of costs and how to file a claim with your IVC health insurance provider.

Workshop Descriptions

Immigration 101

Do you need a refresher on the basics of your F-1 visa status? If so, be sure to attend this workshop which will go over the regulations and benefits of your F-1 visa.

Optional Practical Training

If you are interested in learning how you can work off-campus in a job directly related to your major and gain valuable skills, please attend one of the OPT workshops.

Travel Preparation

It is important to know what you need to do to travel abroad and be able to return back to the USA. Learn about necessary visa renewal processes, I-20 signature processes and more.

University Transfer for International Students

The transfer and application process to university is often different for international students. Learn how to research universities, what the application processes and requirements are, as well as when you should begin to apply.
